Inner Totem explores the idea of an internal structure — a symbolic figure that represents inner strength, protection, and balance. The image is built as a layered, symmetrical composition, where human, animal, and abstract forms merge into a single vertical axis.
Bright contrasting colors create a sense of energy and tension, while symmetry gives the work stability and focus. The totem-like figure can be read as a personal guardian, an inner guide, or a reflection of hidden psychological states.
This work comes from my graphic practice under the name Zmogk, closely connected to street art and iconic visual language. It is designed to be direct, powerful, and immediately readable, while still leaving space for personal interpretation.
Please note:
- Possible color deviations are due to light, monitor and camera.
- For buyers outside the EU, additional duties and fees may apply.
Bio.
Konstantin Danilov (b. 1979, Moscow) is a painter and muralist based in Athens, Greece. A pioneer of Russia’s 1990s graffiti scene, his practice evolved toward Color Field painting, blending bold spatial compositions with psychological and emotional depth.
He has exhibited at major institutions such as the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, RuArts Foundation, and Burning Man x Sotheby’s (New York). His works are part of notable collections, including the STRAAT Museum (Amsterdam), Montresso Foundation, RuArts Foundation, and Sofia Trotsenko Collection.
Danilov has held solo shows at Triumph Gallery, Fineart Gallery, and Reloft Art in Moscow, and has participated in international fairs such as Urban Art Fair (Paris) and Affordable Art Fair (Amsterdam). His street art projects span over 20 countries, from Hong Kong to Paris and New York.
His work explores themes of emotional perception, ecological fragility, and transformation of personality and the interaction between one’s inner world and the external environment, including in the context of emigration. Using techniques such as painting around the edges of the canvas to reflect the hidden emotional layers that frame our conscious experience.
