Raphaelle Emery, PIN UP, 2023, an original acrylic painting signed by hand on skateboards, 80 cm high and 40 mm wide, France, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
An American pin-up with a 1950s vibe.
Diptyque on skateboard decks
One-dollar bills, spray, acrylic, marker, and ink
A Parisian painter, trained as a stylist, it was during her studies that she began sketching these women with large eyes. After several years in the fashion world, she now paints these feminine avatars, mediums that convey emotions, beliefs, and messages.
Coming from a family of architects, she naturally grasps urban space and uses it to display her muses in bright, saturated colors, thereby sowing her messages.
Thus, Raphaelle balances between her studio work and her activity as a muralist, where she creates large immersive murals. Two worlds closely linked by common elements, such as spray paint cans that become sculptures once used.
Ecological awareness and nostalgia for an era not so far away have led the artist to reflect on her current works: she likes to breathe new life into forgotten objects, to reuse them, and to assemble them in order to create new surfaces and move toward a virtuous form of art.
Raphaelle Emery has been exhibiting for several years, including several solo shows, and is represented in French and international galleries, notably those specializing in street art, and she is part of the established Parisian street-art scene.
