Large, and beautifully crafted edition of "Milton's Paradise Lost". This folio edition, edited by Henry Collins Walsh, and featuring fifty full-page engravings, each telling its own intricate tale of the cosmic battle between good and evil; by the famous artist Gustave Doré. The book showcases Doré's dramatic and intricate engravings, bringing Milton's epic poem to life.
Published Henry Altemus, Philadelphia, 1880s. Publishers’ original Grey boards, with illustrations and white and gilt titles on upper board. Spine lettered and decorated in gilt. All page edges gilt.

Condition
External covers with some wear at corners, and edges, and with rubbings to head and foot of spine, associated with age. Internally; the book in very good condition. A name with pencil on top first blank front free endpaper page. Inner hinges are very good and pages are tightly held at gutters. Pages are clean with few marks on couple pages. The illustrations in nice condition (Please see pictures).
