The instrument is in ready to play condition with an old repaired sound post crack on top as well as small repaired f-hole crack, repaired nose on the back, good ebony set up, new strings and master made bridge stamped H.I. Bartsch Essen. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 595 mm and the back 357 mm. Width of the upper bout: 166 mm; middle: 112 mm; lower: 208 mm.
