Where the soul settles, the artist constructs a portrait with a strong psychological and symbolic charge, in which the female figure becomes a territory of passage between the intimate, the organic, and the spiritual. The work is not limited to the representation of the face; it uses it as a threshold, as a surface where fragility, transformation, and the desire for permanence converge.

Technical mastery is evident from the first visual impact. The skin, treated with a delicacy almost sculptural, contrasts with a vibrant and gestural background that introduces tension and emotional depth. This opposition between figurative precision and pictorial expressiveness endows the work with a solid contemporary presence, capable of engaging in a dialogue with both classical portraiture and the contemporary visual language.

The symbolic element—the insect perched beside the face—acts as the conceptual axis of the work. It is not an ornament nor a literal narrative resource, but a metaphor of the ephemeral, of that which stops just for an instant before disappearing. The small green object it holds intensifies this reading: it alludes to fragility, to the chemical, to the mutable, introducing a tension between the natural and the artificial, between what is born and what is manufactured.

Artist Statement

My work focuses on fantastic figuration, using portraiture as a vehicle to explore the human psyche and its archetypal narratives. My primary interest lies in the tension between intimate experience and universal symbolism: the female figure becomes the crucible where concepts such as conflict, sacrifice, desire, and memory are manifested.
My process is a visual thesis that merges realistic observation of faces with graphic and organic stylization in the environment, inspired by Art Nouveau and the sinuous narrative of Pop Surrealism. I aim to shape what is not said but is felt through the integration of symbolically and aesthetically striking organic elements, which act as direct metaphors for internal states and life processes.
My work dialogues with Surrealism and Magical Realism, aiming to demonstrate that the body is a map and the mind an ecosystem. Each painting is a consequence of consciousness, an effort to capture the constant duality (Youth/Time, Beauty/Death) that defines the human condition. Ultimately, my work is the visual chronicle of the search for where the soul rests, inviting reflection on our own essential complexity.
