Description from the seller

Superb solid silver Timbale (950‰) - Louis XVI style - Silversmith Pierre Bezon - Paris, early 20th century
Description:
Description of the item:
Elegant baptismal or dining timbale in solid silver of Neo-Louis XVI style, of very fine craftsmanship. The body is richly decorated with a central ribbon-wrapped medallion depicting the attributes of Love (quiver of arrows and crossed torches), surrounded by finely chiseled laurel garlands. The base (pedestal) is accented by a classic row of pearls ornament.
Technical characteristics:
Material: Solid silver (tested on a touchstone).
Fineness mark: Minerva head, 1st standard (950/1000).
Master’s mark: Pierre Bezon (initials P and B surrounding a gear/wheel). Pierre Bezon registered his mark in Paris in 1913.
Weight: 98 grams (nice sampling, sturdy piece).
Style: Louis XVI.
Era: Early 20th century (circa 1915-1930).
Status:
Very good overall condition. No major deformations, no restorations. The engraving remains very sharp. A few micro-scratches from normal use for a piece of this age, which gives it a beautiful patina.
