Description from the seller
Kaiser Porcelain Bisque Relief Vase & Candleholders Set – Art Deco style
In near mint condition – No reserve.
Elegant three-piece porcelain set produced by Kaiser Porzellan (West Germany), consisting of a central relief vase and two matching candleholders, executed in refined matte white bisque porcelain.
The sculptural relief depicts stylized female profiles surrounded by floral garlands and geometric ornamentation, clearly inspired by Art Deco aesthetics: symmetry, elegance, and decorative clarity. The soft matte exterior contrasts beautifully with the glazed interior, a hallmark of quality bisque production.
The underside bears the blue AK Kaiser mark with crown and “W. Germany”, along with the model number 0234, confirming authentic manufacture. Designed by Manfred Frey and dates to the 1970s, a period when Kaiser revisited classic Art Deco vocabulary in contemporary sculptural form. Frey is considered a representative of the German design aesthetics of the modernist era, where art and industrial production intersected.
Dimensions
Candleholders (2x): 10.5 × 9 × 7 cm (h × w × d)
Center vase: 15 × 15 × 6 cm (h × w × d)
Condition
In excellent vintage condition
No cracks, no chips, no restorations
Clean, crisp relief with sharp detailing
During the postwar decades, Kaiser Porcelain became renowned for high-quality bisque relief objects that bridged classical Art Deco influences with modern German design sensibilities. Manfred Frey’s designs are especially sought after for their sculptural depth and decorative balance, making sets like this highly collectible today.
