Hand-painted watercolor nature prints (12) – 1839–1845 – Marenesi (Bonatti)

Engraved prints from the Pictorial Dictionary of natural history and manufactures by Ercole Luigi Marenesi, Milan, Borroni e Scotti, 1839 - 1845. The plates depict various species of animals, all engraved on copper by Gaetano Bonatti and finely hand-watercolored with 'gomme' technique by A. Bagnetti and G. Curti.

Currently framed in 10 small panels measuring 25x33 cm, with light green fabric passepartout, and 2 small panels measuring 17x26 cm.

The lithographs are in decent condition, except for some woodworm holes in a few (see photo).
