Partenope, an oil-on-panel painting by Ernesto Scudiero (Italy, 1950–1960), 54 × 42 cm, hand-signed, in excellent condition, an impressionist figurative work sold with a classic frame.
Description from the seller
Elegant female portrait executed in oil on panel, characterized by an intense yet measured painting, typical of the finest Neapolitan figurative tradition of the second half of the twentieth century.
The face is constructed through a deft modulation of color planes, with loose yet controlled brushstrokes that convey psychological depth and expressive delicacy. The warm skin tone, the introspective gaze, and the handling of volumes testify to an expert and mature hand.
Artwork signed and dated 1960 on the reverse, a feature that guarantees its authenticity and its precise dating.
The frame, of classical taste, further enhances the painting and is in keeping with the era.
