Description from the seller

Chamotte stoneware sculpture, depicting a minimalist figure with elongated features and closed eyes.
The raw, mineral material contrasts with the softness of the modelling, evoking a timeless face, between a mask and human presence.
The work invites silence and introspection, in a subtle tension between fragility and permanence.

- I created my image for Falen Art with the aim of building a unique, modern, and elegant visual identity capable of representing my artistic work and my values.
After studying graphic design in Namur and developing a strong passion for travel and cultural diversity, Natalie Matis's vocation for porcelain was born in China during a trip.
Upon her return to Belgium, she joined the Porcepolis workshop in Brussels, where she deepened her particular taste for porcelain; she loves this material for its whiteness, its nobility, its translucence, its intimacy with the glaze, and its softness.
She offers a range of decorative objects with a minimalist design.
For several years, Nathalie Matis refined her study of ceramics in various workshops and at the Academy of Fine Arts of Braine-l'Alleud under the
Ceramist Geert van Der Borght.
Passionate about ceramics, she explores various techniques on her own and has a pronounced fascination with raku, a mysterious meeting of mastery and chance, a fragile journey between the potter’s dream and metamorphosis.
