Description from the seller
Original work created with acrylic paint, Posca markers, and spray paint. Signed Medsan, an artist known for his subversions of cultural icons and his pop compositions with strong narrative resonance.
In this graphic and vibrant work, Medsan revisits the Statue of Liberty through a visual language directly inspired by street art and Keith Haring's aesthetics. The iconic figure, entirely painted in red, becomes the centerpiece of a restless, almost electric scene, where white silhouettes, stylized animals, and moving signs revolve around it. The raised torch no longer merely illuminates the world: it seems to contain an unstable energy, tautly under pressure. The schematic characters, graphic vibrations, and references to a pop culture infused with science fiction evoke a universe at the border between the real and the imaginary, recalling the atmosphere of Stranger Things and the 1980s. The work questions the notion of freedom in a world saturated with signals, fears, and invisible forces. Between irony, tension, and pop nostalgia, this Statue of Liberty becomes a fragile symbol, almost besieged, but still standing. A strong and immediately legible piece, ideal for fans of contemporary pop art, street art, and iconic cultural references revisited with audacity.

An artists' studio bringing together around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine site of artistic production, the studio operates both as a space for collective creation and for individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive approach, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity of its own for each artist."}
