Victor Massacre's Hermes Wine Sculpture is a one-of-a-kind plaster and concrete tabletop piece (2020, Latvia) measuring 25 cm wide, 39 cm high, 20 cm deep, weighing 5 kg, not signed, hand-painted with gloss lacquer in black, white and red, featuring a wine-bottle hole for party use.
Description from the seller
This tabletop sculpture-object combines contemporary art, a philosophical concept & a practical function. Depicting the ancient Greek god Hermes, it serves not only as a striking decor piece but is also designed for use at parties & celebrations: a specially designed hole allows you to insert a bottle of wine, champagne, or any other drink.
The sculpture was created circa 2020. Sculpture is hand-painted & coated with a shiny gloss lacquer for protection and visual appeal, which can be seen glistening in the photographs.
The central thought is inscribed on the front of the piece - the word "NOW". This accent serves as a reminder that we live in one continuous moment - "now" - and that time is relative and illusory. The work invites contemplation on the value of the present.
A soft fabric backing is attached to the bottom to prevent scratching the surface on which the sculpture is placed.
*ONE OF A KIND. NO DUBLICATES.
**Bottle is not included.
