Walter Theunynck is a Belgian artist born in 1941 in Esen/Diksmuide. He is a painter and draftsman. Son of farmer Gaston Theunynck. Studied briefly at the Academy in Ronse. He became fascinated as a landscape painter by the panoramas of the Flemish Ardennes. His undulating or flat landscapes, painted across the seasons, breathe a certain nostalgia. He also paints interiors, flowers and still lifes. He sometimes leans toward abstracted impressionism, then toward color expressionism. He has exhibited, among others, at the Casino in Beringen in 1981 and at the Vyncke-Van Eyck gallery in Ghent in 1982.
Active in Zwalm. In the Lexicon of West Flemish Visual Artists, Vol. VII (PIRON)
