Description from the seller
This is a vase made of uranium glass, also known as vaseline glass, popular during the Art Deco period, especially in the 1930s. Its distinctive, vibrant, neon green glow under ultraviolet (UV) light is caused by the inclusion of a small amount of uranium oxide in its composition.
Identification: The primary method of identification is exposure to a UV light source (black light); glass containing uranium will fluoresce strongly green.
Design: The vase shown has a flared, trumpet-shaped design with ribs or twisted panels extending from the faceted base. This style is commonly associated with Czech or Bohemian makers such as Stolzle.
Safety: Uranium glass is generally considered safe for handling and display because it emits very low levels of radiation (mainly weak alpha and beta rays that do not readily penetrate the skin). However, it is recommended to avoid consuming food or drinks from these objects to prevent accidental ingestion of microparticles.
The condition of this vase is very good, considering its age.
The vase will be properly packaged so that it reaches you in perfect condition.
Height - 10 cm
Opening diameter - 9.7 cm
Weight - 210 grams
