Desire fixes a moment of suspended tension, where expression sits between impulse and restraint. The close framing of the lips eliminates any external narrative, focusing attention on the minimal gesture that precedes the action — a space where desire has not yet materialized, but is already fully present.
The intense gaze and the almost tangible surface transform the mouth into a sensory territory, a symbol of communication, pleasure, and vulnerability. The slight opening suggests expectation, invitation, and restraint at the same time, keeping the observer in a state of continuous anticipation.
In this work, desire is not depicted as excess but as concentration. Desire proposes desire as a mental and bodily state — silent, imminent, and impossible to ignore.
