Description from the seller

Elegant 19th Century Louis XVI Revival Armchair with Matching Footstool – Hand Carved Wood & Floral Needlepoint Upholstery

Elegant late 19th century armchair with matching footstool, executed in the Louis XVI Revival style, dating circa 1900–1920.

The chair features a beautifully hand-carved wooden frame, richly decorated with acanthus leaves, fluting and turned balusters in the backrest. The refined craftsmanship and balanced proportions are characteristic of high-quality furniture from the Napoleon III period.

Both the seat and the footstool are upholstered in an attractive hand-embroidered floral needlepoint (petit point), depicting roses and foliage in soft, harmonious colours.
The upholstery shows honest signs of age and use, consistent with its period, which adds to the authentic character of the set.
The matching footstool is original to the chair and repeats the same embroidery and wooden construction, making this a rare and complete ensemble.

Structurally solid and stable
