A very rare Thomas Pips luxury album with the original record is being auctioned.
The story in this album, 'The Green Key', appeared in Weekblad ’t Kapoentje: from no. 25 (21/06/1951) to no. 47 (22/11/1951). It is one of Buth's oldest works and also one of the oldest classics of Flemish comics.
In 1997 the story was published by the publisher De 9e Kunst in album form (and later it would be published again in Brabant Strip's Fenix series). The De 9e Kunst edition, in large format and with a linen cover, appeared in 50 (!) copies, of which 36 included an original plate. One of those 36 albums with a plate is offered in this lot.
Condition: Very good for the beautiful original record, and almost like new for the album. The cover of the album shows some very light discoloration. There’s a bit of white dust in the linen cover that I couldn’t remove easily.
Dimensions of the plate: 41.5 x 28.5 cm.
