Refined porcelain painting depicting the Virgin Mary, portrayed in half-length with hands crossed over the chest, in keeping with a Marian iconography of nineteenth-century taste, with delicate flesh tones and a soft, luminous palette. The figure, wrapped in the traditional blue mantle and the light-colored robe, expresses an intense devotional sweetness and a remarkable painterly quality.

The painting is set in a refined frame of engraved brass, delicately pierced and decorated with floral and symbolic motifs, crowned by a central cross. The structure features openable side doors, also decorated, which confer upon the object the function of a small home altar or domestic devotional icon.
