Description from the seller
Exceptional original flyer/brochure from 1932 by F. Serracchiani with the full program of the Carnival festivities between January 28 and February 9 of that year in the French resort town of Nice. When unfolded, the brochure presents, among other things, a colorful and festive carnival scene / masquerade ball with numerous dancing, masked and costumed figures who are clearly having the time of their lives.
The image, like all the other illustrations in the brochure (recto/verso, see photos), was provided by François Serracchiani, who also has several posters for the Carnival of Nice to his credit.
In the trade literature we unfortunately do not find any biographical data about Serracchiani. It is established that he worked between 1927 and 1935 on behalf of the Cannes city festival committee. The brochure offered here is in very good condition and shows only a few light signs of wear. All images are fully intact. The vivid colors speak for themselves.
Condition A - Thumbtack holes in the white border at the top, normal fold marks, and a few creases along the edges.
Printing: Imprimerie de L'Eclaireur - Nice (SADAG process) for the Committee of Festivals and Sports of Nice.
Shipping: In a reinforced and secure envelope with tracking and insurance.
