Description from the seller
Table lamp "Carciofo" in Iridescent Ceramic – Modernist Design
This table lamp is a magnificent example of how 20th-century design has reinterpreted the forms of nature with elegance and irony. The base, shaped like an artichoke or a pinecone, is made of fine ceramic with a mother-of-pearl/iridescent finish that catches the light even when the object is off.
The ceramic base is made up of meticulously molded overlapping scales, which create a play of volumes and shadows that is highly sculptural and decorative.
Iridescent finish: The enamel applied gives pearly reflections that vary from pink to aquamarine depending on the angle of light, imparting to the object an ethereal and precious aura.
Golden Details: The base rests on a ring of gold-toned metal, a detail that elevates the design and reconnects it to the Hollywood Regency style.
Minimal Lampshade: The truncated-conical lampshade in neutral fabric balances the complexity of the base, allowing the ceramic sculpture to remain the absolute focal point.
Organic forms inspired by the plant world have been a pillar of European design, bringing into homes the desire for nature and renewal. This lamp is not just a light source, but a domestic sculpture that evokes winter gardens and the elegance of mid-century dwellings. It is an object that speaks of attention to detail and of a beauty that does not fear the passage of time.
Perfect on a teak sideboard, on a coffee table beside a velvet sofa, or as a distinctive element in a contemporary bedroom. Its soft light is ideal for creating corners of pure relaxation.
Conditions: The lamp is in excellent condition. The ceramic is intact, with no chips or cracks. The lampshade is clean and the gold base shows some oxidation due to time, but preserves its original brilliance. The electrical system has been checked and is functioning.
