Original acrylic painting on canvas by MEDSAN, titled Legacy in the Making - Hand signed - XL, 2024, 115 x 72 cm, hand-signed on front and back, unique edition, in excellent condition, produced in France.
Description from the seller
Original work created with acrylic paint, Posca markers, and spray paint. Signed Medsan, an artist known for his subversions of cultural icons and his pop compositions with strong narrative resonance.
With Legacy in the Making, Medsan stages an impossible encounter between the history of art and the contemporary mythology of superheroes. The composition directly reframes Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, replacing sacred figures with icons of modern pop culture. The founding gesture — this almost-contact suspended — becomes here a relay, a transmission of power, responsibility and heritage. On the left, a solitary hero, rooted to the ground, reaches out with a hesitant impulse. On the right, a collective, powerful and dense figure seems to spring from a baroque cloud, carried by energy, technology and brute force. The contrast between stillness and movement, doubt and determination, old world and new world, structures the entire narrative of the work. The graphic additions — scribbled words, lightning bolts, hearts, gestural traces and paint splashes — inject a spontaneity of street art that fissures the solemnity of the classical reference. The word “Legacy,” inscribed like a mantra, acts as a throughline: what do we leave behind? Who inherits our battles, our ideals, our mistakes? Through this work, Medsan questions our relationship to heroes, to cultural transmission, and to the modern fabrication of myths. A powerful painting, at once homage, critique and visual play, aimed at lovers of contemporary art, of pop culture and of bold iconographic subversions.

An artists' studio bringing together around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine site of artistic production, the studio operates both as a space for collective creation and for individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive approach, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity of its own for each artist."}
