Daum glass vase, French Art Nouveau, circa 1910–1920, 30 cm high with a 14 cm diameter opening and 14 cm base, made in layered cameo glass with an impressionist forest scene, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Glass vase from the Daum French manufacture, Liberty period, in excellent condition.
The expert appraisal issued by the antique expert Tina Biazzi states:
Daum vase. Height 30 cm, mouth diameter 14 cm, base diameter 11 cm. Made in multi-layer glass, carved and engraved with the cameo technique, with mole and
fluoridic acid and finished with the wheels.
Depicts an impressionist scene, a forest at sunset.
Vase produced in shades of blue, deep red, green, yellow, orange and black.
The coloration of the glass mixture is created with the technique of intercalating powders in a
programmed manner. Metallic oxides that grant the various colors, included and mixed into the glass in a well-defined and established way, following a precise program.
While the trees, the branches and the leaves are colored with black metallic oxides and are engraved with acid and finely worked with the wheel.
The execution of such pieces required many long hours of wheel engraving and acids, chiseling the details, degrading the background.
Provided that nothing was to be discarded due to cracks or breaks.
The care given to its realization is of high quality.
Signed at the bottom, in cameo, Daum Nancy with the Lorraine cross.
Authentic work of the Daum brothers, made circa 1900/1910.
Authentic Daum piece from 1900/1910 (France) and unaltered in all its parts.
