Very good preservation
Jens Rötzsch (Leipzig 1959) studied while completing his military service (1977-1980). From 1981 to 1986 he studied at the Leipzig Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Arts (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig) in the Photography Department with Peter Pachnicke, J. Jansong, and W.G. Schröter. After a supplementary study in Leipzig and Budapest during 1986 to 1989, with study stays in Paris and London, he lives and works as a freelance photographer in Berlin. During the period of his supplementary studies, he was from 1987 to 1989 an assistant at the Budapest University of Applied Arts and Design."
His photo reportage series 'Protokoll-Strecken' documented the collapse of the SED dictatorship in the GDR and showed the new beginning after the Turn and the Peaceful Revolution. In 1990 he was a founding member of the Ostkreuz image agency. From 1992 to 1999 he held a teaching appointment at the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld, and from 2004 to 2005 a professorship at the Muthesius Art College Kiel.
