Koya is a French DPLG architect by profession and has been a painter since his adolescence. Working on projects focused on Californian architectures, both private and public, he has long been passionate about American architecture from the 1940s to 1960s. For his creations, he is notably inspired by architects and designers such as Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier, Gropius, Mies Van Der Rohe, Arne Jacobsen, Gio Ponti, Frank Lloyd Wright, Rietveld, Niemeyer, and Alvar Aalto…
He uses the architecture software AutoCAD Architecture for his pictorial creations, which allows him to model buildings in 3D. Following this, in the manner of David Hockney, whom he venerates, he uses his graphics tablet to paint his 'model,' radically transforming these architectures into fairy-tale landscapes.
In these works, we find the inspirations of David Hockney, but also those of Thierry Lefort, Ruslan Kolomiyets, Lionel Borla, as well as photographers Richard Dunkley and Slim Aarons.
Dive now into the unique and magnificent universe of Koya for a journey you won't want to return from.
