Cristina Cañamero presents Abandono., an original oil on canvas painting with a wooden frame ready to hang, 40 x 40 cm, signed by hand and dated 2026, featuring a cold palette of blue, purple, white and multicolor, in excellent condition and produced in Spain, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
The first thing that works very well is the body posture: that forced, almost uncomfortable arch conveys physical and emotional vulnerability at the same time. It isn’t a body “resting”; it’s a body exposed, out in the elements. The twisting of the torso and the hip generates tension, and that sustains visual interest without the need for explicit drama.
The atmosphere is very well crafted. The vertical forest, cold and repetitive, functions almost like a symbolic cage. There is no inviting depth: there is distance, indifference. The snow falling softens the scene, but it does not comfort it; on the contrary, it reinforces the feeling of silence and solitude.
As for color, the choice is of cool tones, but the skin tone introduces humanity without becoming completely warm. The face is perhaps the most delicate: you don't overdramatize the expression, and that works in your favor. There is no shout, no evident tear. There is fatigue, surrender, perhaps resignation. That makes the abandonment not theatrical, but existential.
