Description from the seller
Very fine pair of candlesticks in Art Nouveau style, made of bronze/brass, dating from the 20th century.
The two-armed candelabras have an openwork base that leads into a slender stem.
The upper part is beautifully designed with graceful Art Nouveau/Jugendstil swirls and floral decorations.
The candlesticks are unmarked. Possibly from the German firm WMF. In 1906 Albert Mayer designed the candlestick type called "Eiffel". This company was around 1900 the world market leader in high-quality
metalware, mainly in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style. Mayer was director of WMF from 1884 to 1914.
The candlesticks are 28 cm high, 19 cm wide, and 10 cm deep at the bottom.
The weight is +/- 440 grams.
The candelabras are in very good condition, with minimal signs of use.
