Roskopf pocket watch, period 1900–1949, manual-winding movement with an Argentan case featuring raised floral decoration and a white 24‑hour enamel dial with red numerals and textured circular hour markers, 54 mm lug width, case diameter over 50 mm, weight 100 g, in good cosmetic condition with signs of wear, includes a matching chain, not shipped insured, in working order but intermittent and sold as a functional piece in need of a full professional service.
Description from the seller
Antique “Système Roskopf” pocket watch, Swiss, ca. 1900–1920. Argentan (German silver–type alloy, not solid silver) case with raised floral decoration and white 24‑hour enamel dial, featuring red numerals and twelve textured circular hour markers. Black baton‑style hands. Hinged back cover with visible movement. Matching metal chain included.
Hand‑wound mechanical movement, Roskopf system with pin‑pallet escapement. The watch winds correctly and the gear train starts running; however, operation is intermittent: it stops when the watch is moved or placed in certain positions. It is therefore sold as a functional piece in need of a full service by a professional watchmaker (cleaning, lubrication, and possible adjustments/repairs). No accuracy or continuous running is guaranteed.
Overall cosmetic condition is good for its age: general wear and small marks on case and chain, light scratches on the crystal and dial, with no major dents or obvious losses to the enamel. Ideal as a collectible item, decorative piece, or restoration project, sold as a vintage second‑hand watch with no returns based on timekeeping or mechanical reliability.
