A renowned Bergamo painter, a representative figure of Italian Twentieth-Century art.

The work falls within the Orientalist portraiture lineage, a style that Quarti deepened during his stays in North Africa (in particular Libya), where he drew inspiration for numerous indigenous subjects and desert landscapes.
