Description from the seller
Pair of Vienna-Style Porcelain Vases, Cobalt Blue with Gilt Decoration – 19th Century
A decorative pair of porcelain vases in deep cobalt blue, richly embellished with gilt details and hand-painted oval cartouches depicting classical allegorical scenes.
Each vase features a spherical body with a slender neck, decorated with finely executed gold scrollwork, dotted motifs, and gilt borders framing the painted reserves. The scenes are rendered in soft tones and show figures in a neoclassical style, characteristic of Vienna-inspired porcelain production of the 19th century.
Both vases bear a painted name within the cartouche, visible on each piece (Riemer). Such inscriptions are commonly found on Vienna-style porcelain and should be regarded as decorative or stylistic references rather than documented artist attributions.
Condition:
Overall good condition consistent with age. One vase shows a visible crack at the rim, clearly documented in the photographs. Gilding shows light wear in places. No restoration observed.
Dimensions:
Height: approx. 15 cm
Maximum diameter: approx. 8 cm
Minimum diameter: approx. 4,5 cm
Carefully photographed to show front, back, decorative details, base marks, and the existing crack.
