Description from the seller
Exceptional .800 Silver Cutlery Set for 12 People – 128 Pieces
Calderoni, Milan – 1950s/1960s
This is not merely a cutlery set, but a true heritage asset, combining Italian silversmithing excellence, noble provenance, and tangible investment value.
This outstanding 128-piece cutlery service in solid 800 silver comes from a historic noble family from Lake Como, where it has been carefully preserved over generations. A prestigious ensemble originally conceived for grand dining and formal entertaining, today it represents a rare opportunity for collectors and investors alike.
The set was produced by the renowned Calderoni silversmith, one of the most important Italian silversmiths of the 20th century. At the time, it was sold by the historic Milanese silversmith Gabrielli Giuseppe, whose shop was located at Via del Lauro 10 in Milan, as confirmed by the original adhesive label still present inside the case.
A Unique Piece for Size, Completeness, and Provenance
What makes this service truly exceptional is its extraordinary size and completeness:
128 perfectly matching pieces, an extremely rare configuration to find today, especially accompanied by its original period wooden case with plateaux, preserved in excellent condition.
Although the service has been used, it has always been treated with the utmost care. All pieces are in excellent overall condition, with no breaks, missing elements, or restorations, only very minimal signs of normal use consistent with age.
