Artist Biography: Alfonso Castrigno
Alfonso Castrigno, born in Bari on September 12, 1959, is an artist and researcher whose creative path is deeply intertwined with care and harmony.
Self-taught in the restoration of antique decorations, he developed a unique sensitivity for material, color, and the stratification of time. This experience in restoring historical beauty, combined with his current profession as a naturopath, defines his signature style: an art that is not merely visual expression, but an act of regeneration.
His creative process originates in a semi-trance state, a dimension of deep listening where the hand moves free from the constraints of rational logic. From this flow emerge archetypes, metaphysical structures, and natural symbols that vibrate with a therapeutic energy. His works are windows into the unconscious, designed to harmonize spaces and nourish the soul of those who observe them, bringing to each canvas the vital balance that Alfonso constantly seeks between nature, history, and spirit.
Review: "Dream in Pink"
"Sogno in rosa" is an emblematic work of Alfonso Castrigno's current phase, where his mastery of surface treatment—a legacy of his restoration work—meets a dreamlike vision.
Analysis of the Work:
The Apple, Vital Nucleus: At the top left, suspended in a vibrant, dotted atmosphere, floats a red apple. A universal symbol of life and health, this element directly recalls nature and naturopathy, acting as an energetic "heart" that illuminates the entire landscape.
Suspended Architectures: On the left, arches evoking ancient Roman structures recall the artist's passion for classical decoration, here transfigured into a metaphysical context.
Atmosphere and Technique: The lavender and pink background, created with a delicate work of glazes and splashes, symbolizes the ether, the subtle space where dreams and reality merge.
Why buy it: It's a work of rare serenity. Buying "Dream in Pink" means choosing a piece of art that celebrates the resilience of nature (represented by the trees on the floating island) and the life force of well-being. A perfect investment for spaces that require light, calm, and a deep spiritual connection.
Signature: The work is signed lower right, confirming the artist's original hand.
