THE RACE GOES ON (NEVER TIRED) – Special Series: LOONEY TOONS
Edition: 1/25
Reference: CY-RR-130-01-2026
Original work created entirely by hand in mixed-media technique (acrylic and Posca marker) on an authentic 1-dollar bill (USD).
This work is part of the Special Series: LOONEY TOONS, a collection in which Toons reinterprets the mythical figures of the cartoon to give them a contemporary reading. The Race Goes On (Never Tired) twists the global monetary icon into a scene of tension and repetition, carried by one of the most emblematic duos in pop culture: the Coyote and the Road Runner.
In the center of the composition, the Coyote fixes his target with intensity. His gaze is tense, determined, almost exhausted — but never resigned. Conversely, the Road Runner bursts in from the side, always elusive, always in motion. One embodies effort and stubbornness, the other speed and the moment. The chase is endless, the scenario eternal.
By diverting the banknote — a symbol of value, stability and trust — Toons makes it a metaphor for the modern world. Here, money becomes the vehicle for a reality in which we constantly chase after something: success, recognition, time, or desire. Sometimes never reaching the goal, but never stopping either.
Between cartoon humor and symbolic reading, the work pays tribute to this modern obsession: moving forward, failing, starting over, persevering. Never Tired resonates like a visual mantra, where endurance becomes a form of resistance.
A pop, dynamic and punchy play, where running becomes a symbol of willpower, and where exhaustion is never an option.
