Green glazed earthenware pitcher by Marzi & Remy, Germany, dating to 1960–1970, dimensions 25 × 18 × 13 cm, in very good condition with light signs of wear from age.

Beautiful and rare green pitcher produced by the Marzi & Remi manufactory.
Anton Marzi and Simon Peter Remy founded their company in the town of Höhr, in the Westerwald, in 1879. In 1880 they also began the production of pewter items. By the end of the 19th century, Marzi & Remy employed more than 100 employees.
The factory became the leading German producer of stoneware. In 1927 the company was taken over by Werner Remy (son of Simon Peter Remy) and Otto Buhler.
In 1994 the factory closed for good.
The early Marzi & Remy items are rarely stamped. They are identified mainly based on old factory catalogs.
