The 1997 vintage is universally regarded as outstanding and represents one of the high points of the 1990s, now highly coveted by collectors and investors worldwide.

This bottle comes from a private collection and has been consistently stored horizontally, in the dark, and in a climate-controlled environment, ensuring optimal preservation over time. The fill level is at the neck, excellent for a wine of this age and clearly visible in the photographs. The label is in excellent condition, well preserved with only very minor signs of aging consistent with the vintage, while the capsule is also in excellent condition, fully intact and showing no signs of corrosion, cuts, or tampering.

Masseto is produced from a single vineyard characterized by unique blue clay soils in Bolgheri and is made in extremely limited quantities. Over the years, it has become a global benchmark for age-worthy Merlot, often compared to the great wines of Pomerol in Bordeaux. The 1997 vintage was awarded 98 points by Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate), confirming its extraordinary concentration, depth, and elegance.
