AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Ninni Pagano was born in Catania. Always passionate about Wunderkammer and about everything nature offers in its beauty, this passion led him to study in the studio of master Antonio Sciacca, his teacher. It was 2011, and from that moment his artistic career began, propelling him to increasing prominence and earning the esteem of critics such as Aldo Albani, Roberta Filippi of the Orler Gallery, Philippe Daverio, and Daniele Radini Tedeschi. In 2016 his name appears in the prestigious American guide Guide Museums Galleries Artists. After taking part in two Triennials of contemporary art in Rome with his works published in Mondadori catalogs, in 2020 his name appears in the prestigious Atlas of Contemporary Art by De Agostini.
The work is an oil on canvas, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with the artist's logo, the artwork's characteristics, and the artist's signature at the bottom.
The colors of the painting may vary slightly from the photo due to camera and screen settings.
The artwork is carefully packed with bubble wrap and cardboard, and naturally shipped with a frame.

Silent vigil
Certainly! The work 'Veglia Silenziosa' by Ninni Pagano is a fascinating example of how the artist manages to fuse a classical painting technique with atmospheres that are almost dreamlike and metaphysical.
The painting is a contemporary still life that plays with the theme of time and knowledge. At the center, a large transparent spherical clock dominates, revealing an intricate mechanism of gold and bronze gears. The clock rests with solemnity on two ancient books with precious bindings, suggesting a deep connection between the passage of time and accumulated knowledge.
The painting emerges from a dark, deep background, almost shadowy, that enhances the golden luminosity of the objects. This use of chiaroscuro recalls the Caravaggesque tradition, imparting a sense of mystery and sacrality.
In the foreground, small metallic objects are scattered and a vial containing a blue-green, transparent liquid adds a cool color note to a composition dominated by the warm tones of earth and gold.
The title 'Silent Vigil' evokes a state of waiting and contemplation. The clock doesn't merely measure minutes, but watches over the books as a mechanical guardian. It is a reflection on patience, on historical memory, and on the inexorable yet fascinating complexity of human existence.
