L.S., Hidden Smiley, a 2026 acrylic painting with spray paint on canvas, 125 by 85 cm, abstract, original edition, produced in Germany and in excellent condition, rolled and shipped without the stretcher frame.
Description from the seller
Title: hidden smiley
Size: 120 x 80 x 2 cm, when the painting is fully stretched.
I will send it rolled up and without the stretcher frame.
This expressive work lives on the tension between bright neon pink and a hint of neon orange, deep, dark violet tones that sweep across the surface in powerful, diagonal movements. The composition feels dynamic and energized, almost like an inner eruption that is both controlled and raw. The intense fields of color create a vibrating atmosphere and continually draw the eye into new details.
What is particularly distinctive is the heavily applied structural paste in places, which gives the image a relief-like surface. These sculptural areas catch the light differently and produce varying impressions depending on the viewing angle. The tactile quality enhances the physical presence of the work and pushes it far beyond a purely flat painting.
Among several layers of color, a subtly hinted smiley hides itself, originally painted or sprayed and later deliberately overworked. It is only fragmentarily visible and feels like a hidden message or a playful counterpoint to the dramatic colorfulness of the painting. This subtle detail invites you to look longer and to discover ever-new layers.
