Seascape "Entre deux monde" - 2026
Imagine this painting in your home.
This work by Yves Decaudan, entitled "Entre deux mondes" (Between Two Worlds), is an acrylic painting that stands out for its minimalist style and its powerful chromatic contrast. At the center of this composition lies a blue and black fishing boat, stranded on the sand. Its mast, very thin and vertical, stretches toward the sky, linking the earthly and the heavenly realms. The contrast between the dark sky and the bright sand creates an immediate visual tension. The yellow seems to emit its own light, as if the ground were still bathed in sun while the sky has already plunged into night.
A large, imposing black shadow is cast on the sand to the right of the boat, indicating a low, lateral light source, typical of a sunset or of intense moonlight.
The painting captures the moment of the in-between, twilight.
The still boat contrasts with the free flight of the birds.
The sand and the boat represent material reality, while the blue vastness invites contemplation and dreaming.
It is an artwork that exudes deep serenity, while retaining a certain melancholy caused by the solitude of the boat isolated on the shore.
Painting by the Breton painter Yves Decaudan - 1954
Acrylic on cotton canvas, wooden frame, unframed, dimensions 80 x 80 cm.
