Large hardstone Archaic “open work” pendant –China- 20th Century
On offer is a large Chinese hardstone Archaic “open work” pendant with a beautiful beaded necklace. This thick and large pendant is made in the Chinese taste, with an open work depiction of a dragon in the middle. The whole is very beautifully executed and neatly finished. The pendant is semi-translucent and has minor impurities.
Has been identified as non-jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which does not indicate the type of used stone. Gem-tester indicates a high thermal conductivity. The stone is slightly scratch-able with a hard metal scratch pen. Provenance: This pendant is obtained from inland China. An interesting piece made in good quality, suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures.
