Description from the seller
MEDSAN - Bubblegum David : Wild Thing - Hand signed Sculpture.
Artwork by Medsan, an artist known for his subversions of cultural icons and his pop compositions with a strong narrative edge.
In this striking work titled "Bubblegum David: Wild Thing," Medsan targets the apex of classical sculpture: Michelangelo's David. The artist desecrates the figure of Renaissance masculine perfection to thrust it brutally into contemporary urban culture. The stoic face of the biblical hero is here shattered by a large textured pink bubblegum bubble, the ultimate symbol of nonchalance and rebellious youth. A vivid yellow drape provides a striking Color Block contrast, while the torso is tattooed with graffiti and street-art tags ("Wild Thing", "Heroes", "Stars", "Love").
Characteristics of the work:
Signature: Hand-signed artwork by the artist under the base ("Medsan 2026").
Support: PLA sculpture
Technique: Mixed Media
Edition: Original work 2026.
Condition: Excellent (New), kept in workshop.
Authenticity: Delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Shipping: Shipped from France, with careful and secure packaging (bubble wrap and rigid cardboard).
An artists' studio bringing together around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine site of artistic production, the studio operates both as a space for collective creation and for individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive approach, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity of its own for each artist."}
Keywords: pop art, street art, contemporary sculpture, David Michel-Ange, Bubblegum, Graffiti, Wild Thing, Medsan, Le Yack, Atelier Joconde, urban art, pop culture, reimagined statue, modern design, subverted icon, narrative art, interior decoration, white and fluorescent sculpture.
