Panamarenko - Panamarenko "Atom and Manpower" - 1970s

PANAMARENKO (1940 - 2019)
was a Belgian artist, engineer and poet.
He initially worked as a performance artist and
organized happenings in the streets of Antwerp. Through these early activities he quickly gained a local reputation as an artist and met established older artists such as Joseph Beuys and Marcel Broodthaers. Several exhibitions at the 'documenta' in Kassel, as well as at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Fondation Cartier in Paris and also in Lucerne, Brussels, Stuttgart, Cologne and Munich.
