This work, measuring 80 × 100 × 4.5 cm, is produced on a wide, high-quality canvas and straddles painting and sculpture.
In light, the surface unfolds a clear presence. Depending on the incidence of light and viewing angle, the structure and depth change, with individual layers becoming more prominent. The work appears spatial and tangible – perception arises while walking, standing, or lingering.
Frequency GOLD XL — Sculpture of light, structure & presence
Frequency GOLD XL is inspired by sound and frequency. From my work as a pianist, I transfer rhythm, pauses, and repetition into a visual structure. The composition follows a reduced order. Repetitions create tensions comparable to held notes, while subtle color shifts mark transitions.

Title: Frequency GOLD XL
Size: 80 × 100 cm × 4.5 cm
Techniques & Materials: Acrylic paint and Heavy Gel Structure Paste on canvas, built up in layers with different spatulas. The pigments form elevations and overlays with a calm, pulsating tension. Only materials of the highest quality are used: acrylic paints from Amsterdam Expert, texture pastes from Liquitex – all locally produced in Austria.
Frame: Wide support frame made of solid natural wood (included in the price).
(Black decorative frame not included)
Images: The images were taken under professional studio lighting. Lighting is essential for the color play of the works. The artist recommends placing them under direct or indirect light to fully showcase the color play and to make the works come alive.
To gain a better understanding of the works and the interplay of light, I encourage my buyers to watch the videos of the different works on Instagram at @sarah.schwarzl.art.
