Il Patto della Soglia is an original 2026 oil painting by Italian artist Bivaga (born 1972), a portrait measuring 70 cm high by 54.5 cm wide, hand-signed, in excellent condition, weighing 2 kg, sold direct from the artist.
Description from the seller
In Il Patto della Soglia, Bivaga stages a moment suspended between gesture and meaning. The young woman stands poised, composed, her presence calm yet attentive. Upon her hand rests a small bird—alert, weightless, capable of departure at any moment.
The painting explores the threshold between control and freedom. The figure does not restrain the bird; she offers a surface, a pause. Her steady gaze and formal attire suggest ritual and order, while the fragile creature introduces unpredictability and instinct. The contrast between the sumptuous red fabric, the cool pearls, and the living pulse of the bird creates a quiet tension that defines the work.

About the artist:
Agatino Bivona, known artistically as Bivaga, was born in Biancavilla, Sicily, in 1972 and currently lives and works in Adrano. A pupil and close confidant of master Antonio Sciacca, Bivaga began his artistic journey at a young age and has spent over three decades refining his unmistakable visual language. His hyperrealistic portraits, rich in symbolism and emotional nuance, have been featured in major exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Celebrated in critical publications such as I Grandi Maestri (2009), and reviewed by prominent art critics like Nicola Villari and Alfredo Pasolino, Bivaga’s works are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, and Japan — carrying fragments of Sicilian elegance far beyond its borders.
