A lot of three antique brass candlesticks dating to around 1700 with later restorations, made of brass in 17th–18th century styles and showing a natural patina, originating from France.
Description from the seller
This varied trio of antique brass candlesticks dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, each with a unique form and style characteristic of its respective period. The candlesticks have a beautiful natural patina and show signs of use, appropriate to their age.
Yellow-brass collar- or disk-candelabrum (ca. 1700, Low Countries)
Cast and turned into four parts: a round profiled foot, a baluster-shaped shaft, a drip catcher, and a slightly conical candle holder with two round holes. Good condition, with a nice patina.
Dimensions: height 21 cm, diameter of the rim and base 10 cm, weight 1.1 kg
Elegant brass candlestick (early 18th century)
Clean, neoclassical design with an octagonal foot. The unpolished underside and finish point to hand craftsmanship. It tells its history through subtle signs of wear.
Dimensions: height 16 cm, base diameter 10 cm, weight 0.65 kg
Brass pricket candlestick (late 17th - early 18th century)
Imposing Baroque style with a baluster-shaped stem and a broad base. The top holds candles securely, often for use in church or processions. Repairs to the grease catcher and the stem, but this does not detract from the charm. Dimensions: height 28 cm, base diameter 12 cm, about 1 kg
