Oil painting portrait by École impressionniste française (XX), titled Élégance intemporelle, dated 1930–1940, 51 × 41 cm, origin France, sold with frame, original edition, depicting a female profile.
Description from the seller
Magnificent profile portrait of a woman, a figurative work of great painterly sensitivity that stands out for its compositional elegance and the delicacy in the treatment of the face. The piece presents a language close to Post-Impressionism and European Intimism of the 20th century, where chromatic softness and the enveloping atmosphere create a serene and deeply evocative image.
The artist shows notable command of technique in shaping the volumes through subtle tonal transitions and a refined brushwork, managing to convey character and presence with economy of means. The restrained expression, together with the sobriety of the background and the harmony of the palette, give the whole work great aesthetic strength and timeless elegance.
The work is signed, although the signature is currently illegible, which adds an interesting element of investigation and potential attribution in the future.
It shows some flaws from the passage of time, visible mainly in the frame. It is included only as a gift, with no added commercial value. The painting, however, retains a notable visual presence and artistic quality.
A particularly attractive piece for both collectors and fans of European figurative portraiture, ideal for immediate inclusion in a collection or as decoration.
