In this painting with a textured, impasto-like surface, the artist drew numerous colored bands that open into space like bursts of color. The red recalls the color of tomato, together with a few olives, ice, vodka and Tabasco, evoking the famous cocktail 'Bloody Mary.'

Paolo Contin has a long artistic career. He trained in the world of design and has been working in the fields of fashion and art since 1980. In 1999, he began exhibiting his works; in 2002, he held his first solo show in Padua, followed by many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including Copenhagen, Monaco, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
