Description from the seller

Set of 6 Biedermeier silver-mounted cordial glasses – engraved Greek Key decoration – first half 19th century

An elegant set of six Biedermeier cordial or liqueur glasses dating from the first half of the 19th century. Each glass is fitted with a finely crafted silver-filled foot and features a beautifully engraved Greek Key (Meander) decorative band, a timeless classical motif widely used during the Biedermeier period.

The silver feet are decorated with delicate hand-engraved floral rosettes, providing an attractive contrast to the restrained elegance of the engraved glass bowls. These small glasses were intended for serving fine liqueurs, cordials or spirits and make an attractive addition to any collection of antique table silver or early glassware.

The silver bases bear worn hallmarks, believed to include a sword mark (Dutch)and a maker's mark, although they are now too worn to be identified with certainty.

Condition: Good antique condition consistent with age. The silver mounts remain in good order. Several glasses have small rim chips and minor signs of age and use. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.

The silver base is filled with another material inside for stability.
