Description from the seller
Lot Title: Millefiori Art Glass Paperweight, Probably Provenance from Murano, Italy.
A refined glass paperweight, either spherical or dome-shaped, featuring an intricate polychrome millefiori (thousand flowers) decoration. The design is composed of a myriad of tiny cylindrical glass canes (“murrine”) in vibrant shades of blue, yellow, green, and white, arranged concentrically and suspended within a transparent, lucid glass body. The base is translucent with a smooth transition to a darker, smoky top, adding depth to the piece. This piece is a classic example of the Venetian glass technique, popularized in the nineteenth century, although modern examples continue to be produced.
Condition: In overall good condition, may show minor signs of use, such as light scratches on the base or small air bubbles inherent to the manufacturing process, which do not compromise the integrity or beauty of the piece.
