Cornelis Kruseman (1797-1857) was a well-known Dutch painter, best known for his portraits, Italianizing scenes and history paintings, who also painted winter landscapes. Although his focus lay in portraiture and the Italian Romanticism, his oeuvre shows versatility, including atmospheric landscapes. He worked in Amsterdam, The Hague and Italy.
