Javier Villa Libarona (1937–2011) was a Spanish painter and draftsman, born in Beranga (Cantabria), known for his realistic works with impressionist nuances, especially portraits and genre scenes.
Born in Cantabria in 1937. At three months old, he moved with his family to Bilbao, where he lived until he was 30. He later resided in Las Arenas (Getxo, Bizkaia).
In 1959, he began his career as an advertising illustrator. Later, he dedicated himself to illustrating children's and young adult books for various publishers.
Since the mid-1970s, he dedicated himself to his true vocation as a painter, developing a realistic style with impressionist touches. His main technique was oil painting on canvas or wood.
Died in 2011, leaving an artistic legacy that combines tradition and modern sensitivity.
