Description from the seller
Theo Beerendonk (1905–1979)
Untitled, monotype and mixed media on paper, signed bottom right, 1960s–1970s
Powerful and rare work on paper in which Beerendonk fully exploits the possibilities of the monotype. The warm, almost glowing ground serves as a support for flowing transparent tints of blue, pink, and green, which blend into each other with the spontaneity of the energy that characterizes the technique. The red, dynamic line functions as a visual anchor and gives the whole a lyrical rhythm.
A characteristic example of his freer, more experimental period from the mid-20th century, in which color and gesture are central.
51 cm x 41 cm in the frame
